Lifetime will air their new movie The Pregnancy Pact, which premieres Saturday, January 23, 2010.
Lifetime claimed in November the film was “inspired by a true story” and “explores the costs of teen pregnancy set against the backdrop of the infamous alleged 2008 ‘pregnancy pact’ in Gloucester, Massachusetts.”
Now, Lifetime has backtracked, saying, “This film is the story of a fictional ‘pregnancy pact’ set against the backdrop of actual news reports about teen pregnancy from June 2008.
Gloucester Schools Superintendent Christopher Farmer said Lifetime never contacted him and his investigation “found absolutely no evidence” of a pregnancy pact. City councilor and former school committeeman Greg Verga added: “How can you base a true story on something that is alleged?”
